Estimadas familias,

Is the weather improving once again? After a blustery week of learning, it looks like temperatures are set to improve next week. What a relief! I am proud of the resiliency of our students, staff and volunteers for remaining committed to their place-based learning experiences with Sra. Jenn Doeve of Yellow Steps Learning last week, even through snowfall, chilly temperatures and gusty winds. This was the final week of Jenn's facilitation of our work together, but it is not the end of the road just yet. Students and teachers will continue working together to complete their finalized evidence of learning through to the end of May.

We are planning to invite families to join us during the last week of May for scheduled daytime "open house" viewings of grade team bilingual projects that will be displayed in our Learning Commons. Each grade team has focused on a specific perspective of our 1km radius exploration of Haysboro that represent the developmental growth of students from kindergarten through to grade 5.  More details related to scheduling will be shared in the coming weeks. An added bonus of this sharing will be the opportunity to check out our renewed Learning Commons. We are expecting delivery of our new furniture this week! We extend gratitude once again to the Eugene Coste Enrichment Society for voting to approve the significant investment of $23,000.00 to fund the improvement of this collaborative learning space. We are so excited to share this with you!

Did you know that April 22-26 is Support Staff Appreciation Week? Without the talents of Sylvia and Tami in our office, Alicia in the Library, Education Assistants Angie, Monica and Alvaro, Lunch Supervisors Tami, Tanya, Alicia, Kristi, Kari, Ritika, and soon-to-return Melina, along with our EA's and a committed group of guest supervisors, not to mention the incredible work that Sr. Warley, Faith and our team of evening cleaners put in every single day to keep our facility in order, Eugene Coste would not be what it is today. We cannot thank our support staff enough for their commitment and effort to our students and program. Please join me in extending our thanks to our wonderful team of caring adults! We are grateful for you!

Eugene Coste School Council and Enrichment Society Meeting - Thursday, April 25, 2024 (6:15pm and 7:30pm)

It is that time once again for our amazing teams of parents to join the school administration for our April School Council and Enrichment Society meetings. We will be taking time to share work that is reflective of our commitment to learn more about The Heart - To Belong Domain of the Indigenous Education Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework from Learning Leader Sra. Jodi Schmidt's grade 3 classroom. Additionally, we have some updates to share on the progress towards finalizing a design for our Courtyard and an important review of School Wishlist items. Your engagement at both meetings is critical to strengthening relationships between home and school as well as identifying opportunities to enrich our learning environment. Thank you for your support!
