October 2, 2026 Queridas Familias,

As another busy and successful week comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to recognize the many people who help make Eugene Coste School such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.

Lots and Found Reminder

Thank you to all families who have been reminding their children to check our Lost and Found area. We have seen many items reunited with their owners! As a reminder, due to limited storage space at the school, all unclaimed Lost and Found items are donated twice each year: on the last day of school before the December break and on the last day of school in June. If your child is missing clothing, shoes, water bottles, or other personal items, please encourage them to take a look before these donation dates arrive.

Picture Day Success

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our wonderful volunteers who helped Picture Day run so smoothly. Your support made the day efficient and enjoyable for everyone. We would also like to commend our students for being organized, patient, and quick throughout the process. Great job, Eugene Coste!

IPP Forms

Thank you to the families who have already reviewed and returned signed Individualized Program Plans (IPPs). Your timely response helps our teachers put the appropriate supports and accommodations in place to ensure students have every opportunity to be successful throughout the school year.

Spirit Day Continue!

One of the many ways we celebrate our vibrant school community is through Spirit Days. These events allow us to learn more about our students, staff, and families while having fun together. We are especially looking forward to "Miércoles Monocromático" on October 14, when everyone is encouraged to wear their favourite colour from head to toe. If you are volunteering in the school that day, we invite you to join the fun and show off your favourite colour as well!

School Council Meeting

We are looking forward to our upcoming School Council Meeting on October 15. This meeting will focus on our School Development Plan as we work together to establish our goals and trajectory for the year ahead. We encourage all interested parents and guardians to participate. Please visit our school website for the meeting agenda and virtual meeting link.

A Mystery Donor's Generosity

A special shout-out goes to our mystery donor who generously provided additional soccer balls for our students. The extra equipment has been greatly appreciated during outdoor recess and helps ensure more students can stay active and engaged while enjoying time outside. Thank you for your kindness and support!

Healthy Hunger Appreciation

We would also like to thank our dedicated Healthy Hunger volunteers for their ongoing commitment to ensuring the program runs smoothly. In addition, we are grateful to the families who have generously donated an extra lunch to support students who may not be able to participate. Acts of kindness like these help strengthen our caring and inclusive school community. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we create a school environment where every student can thrive.

Welcome and Thank You

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Leili, who is covering for Ms. Toy during her absence. It has been a pleasure having you as part of the Eugene Coste team, and we thank you for your dedication and care for our students.

Donations

We are looking for donations of gently used clothing, especially girls medium to large pull-on pants.  If you have anything you can donate please drop off at the office.

Calgary’s Child

Welcome back to school. It seems like just yesterday we were wishing you a happy and safe summer break. We’re ready for fall and the returning kids are too!

To help parents get their kids back from pool-time to school-time, our fall issue features back-to-school resources including childcare, health & wellness practitioners and educational support tips and support. We've also included our extracurricular class & program guide as well as lots of ideas to help your school community enjoy the crisp weather and changing colors before the snow flies.

Student Council and Enrichment Society

We are sharing two sign-up links: one for the Student Council and the other for the Enrichment Society. This will help us gather a list of interested parents who wish to be more directly involved such as becoming members, volunteering for events, or helping with Fundraising activities. Thank you for considering your role in the school community. We look forward to your responses.

FUN LUNCH

We are excited to let you know that fun lunches are back for the 2026-27 school year!  We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

Our first fun lunch will be on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026, from Subway. If you wish to order and haven’t already set up your account, please do so atwww.healthyhunger.ca. Orders must be placed online through the Healthy Hunger website no later than midnight 5 days before the event. Likewise, if you need to cancel or change an order, you must do so on your profile 5 days before the event.

We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school if you wish to pick it up or have it saved for your child. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of a lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
