Dear Parents and Families,

It has been a full and heartwarming week at Eugene Coste School, and we are so proud of the incredible spirit of our community.

We are proud of our Grade 2 students for leading our Friendship Assembly in honour of Pink Shirt Day. Our youngest leaders spoke with confidence and heart about kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another. Their message reminded us all that creating a welcoming and caring environment is everyone’s responsibility. Throughout the week, classrooms engaged in meaningful conversations and learning activities focused on empathy, belonging, and friendship. It was powerful to see our students living these values in such authentic ways.

We are also excited to share that our older technology has now been retired (TEP), and we have received new Chromebooks to support student learning. Access to updated devices will enhance classroom experiences, strengthen digital literacy skills, and support creativity, collaboration, and research across grade levels. We look forward to seeing the many ways our students will use this technology to deepen their learning while respecting our digital citizenship policies.

A heartfelt thank you to our School Council for organizing the recent school dance fundraiser. We are grateful for the time, effort, and dedication our parent volunteers contribute to making experiences like this possible.

The Alberta Assurance Survey has now been completed by both students and staff. We appreciate the thoughtful participation in this important process. Once the government compiles and releases the results, we will share the information with our community and reflect together on our areas of strength and growth.

We must remind our community that the staff parking lot is reserved for staff and not to be used as a drop-off and pick-up location; we all commit to keeping our students, staff and community safe. Also, safety during drop off and pick up are critical and must be maintained.

Finally, thank you to all families for taking the time to celebrate your child’s report card. Recognizing growth, effort, and achievement helps reinforce a positive partnership between home and school. Your encouragement makes a meaningful difference in your child’s confidence and continued success.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we continue to build a school community where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

With appreciation,

Fun Lunches

Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.

We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .
