What an energizing week at Eugene Coste as we celebrated Spanish Immersion Week and worked on our Storytelling skills. Our hallways were filled with Spanish songs, stories, and rich cultural learning. Thank you for supporting your children as they embraced new vocabulary, traditions, and experiences that deepen their connection to Spanish language and culture.

Jeff Stockton Residency – Sharing Evening Invitations

Students have been working beautifully with Jeff Stockton during his residency, and we are excited to showcase their learning. Invitations for our Residency Sharing Evening were sent home yesterday, please check your child’s backpack. We hope you can join us for this special celebration of storytelling, and student creativity.

Twin Day – Next Friday

Next Friday is Twin Day, and we can already tell it’s going to be a fun one. Students have been buzzing with original ideas, and we can’t wait to see how many “twins” show up across the school. Whether it’s matching outfits, coordinated colours, or creative pairings, we’re looking forward to a joyful day of school spirit.

Intent to Return – Help Us Plan for 2026–27

Eugene Coste School is piloting the CBE’s new Intent to Return process, and your participation is essential. The enrollment intentions form is in School Engage and will open on April 16, 2026.  We know we have previously sent out forms to our families, and we thank you for completed these.  However, it is imperative that you complete the form in School Engage also as this is the new process. Having accurate information helps us plan staffing, class configurations, and programming with accuracy. Thank you in advance for taking a moment to complete this, your support makes a meaningful difference in our planning.

EXTENDED ABSENSES

If your student will be absent from school for a period greater than two weeks please contact the office, satoy@cbe.ab.ca to complete the ‘Extended Absense Form’.  This is a CBE requirement. 

REPORT CARDS

After May 29, 2026, all Semester 1 reports cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading and/or printing. 

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE  to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child's teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.   

Report cards summarize and communicate student achievement at a point in time. In addition to the report card, schools communicate with parents/guardians about student progress on an ongoing basis in a variety of ways.

HEAD LICE

LAST DAY TO ORDER MEMORY BOOKS IS MAY 1, 2026

Fun Lunches

Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.

We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
