Estimada Comunidad de Eugene Coste School,
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our School Council and Enrichment Society for the exceptional leadership they have demonstrated throughout the year. Their ongoing efforts in fundraising, keeping families informed, and supporting a wide range of residencies have made a meaningful impact on our students’ learning experiences. Our May Council meeting will be particularly important, as we will be sharing elements of our planning for the upcoming school year and conducting elections for next year’s Council team. Please see the poster below for additional details. Your partnership truly enhances the authentic learning opportunities available to our students.
All families should have received an invitation to our sharing night with Jeff Stockton, our Storyteller in Residence. If you did not receive the invitation, please contact your child’s teacher. We look forward to celebrating the rich learning students have engaged in during this residency.
Our Grade 3 students are working diligently as they prepare for their Qué Pasa presentation. Thank you to the volunteer mom who is taking care of the skirts. We recognize that many families were hoping to purchase more than the initial limit of four tickets; however, this limit ensured that all Grade 3 families had equitable access before opening additional tickets to the wider community. Beginning Monday, April 20, 2026, families will be able to purchase extra tickets. Please see TicketMaster for additional information.
Today’s Spirit Day - Twin Day, brought wonderful creativity and joy to our school. It is always inspiring to see the imaginative ways students contribute to building a positive school spirit.
Looking ahead, our staff will be participating in the upcoming Maatoomsii’Pookaiks (Children First) Indigenous Education Professional Development Day. Teachers will engage in land-based learning and continue our work in reviewing and strengthening our TRC commitments for the coming year. We look forward to sharing our updated TRC plan with you in June..
We wish all our families a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Con gratitud,
Carmen

REPORT CARDS
After May 29, 2026, all Semester 1 reports cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading and/or printing.
Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child's teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.
Report cards summarize and communicate student achievement at a point in time. In addition to the report card, schools communicate with parents/guardians about student progress on an ongoing basis in a variety of ways.

Fun Lunches
Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.
On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.
We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .
