Estimadas familias,

We are preparing the story telling residency with Jeff Stockton. Storytelling is absolute magic for kids, it’s one of those tools that hits academics, social-emotional learning, and joy all at once. We will be enhancing our listening comprehension, building oral language skills, vocabulary, sentence structure, organization, recall and critical thinking skills. We will have a sharing night, more to come soon.

Our teachers have begun to write their report cards and IPPs.  Report cards provide an overview of your child’s learning progress, strengths, and next steps based on classroom evidence gathered over time. This is an important communication time and a celebration of the efforts your child has made during semester one to achieve the curriculum goals and develop into a lifelong learner.  As always, if you have questions or would like to further discuss your child’s progress, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange a conversation.

We are so fortunate to have our School Council and Society provide us with opportunities to build community and improve our school experiences. The friendship dance is their next big event. Also, our parent community has stepped forward in offering some virtual reality learning experiences for our grade three students; we want to thank our grade three teachers for organizing and planning this fun learning experience.

We want to thank our community in advance for providing your feedback through the Alberta Education Assurance Survey (AEAS), all families have received their codes. If you have any questions please reach out to Administration.

 Enjoy the warm weekend!

Con aprecio, Carmen Fandino

 Fun Lunches

Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.

We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .
