 Estimadas familias,

This week, we were delighted to welcome Robert Warren School’s Jazz Band to our building. Students had the opportunity to explore a variety of instruments, ask thoughtful questions, and enjoy several engaging jazz ensemble performances. Our Grade 5 students also received an introduction to life in middle school, learning about the many academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities offered at Robert Warren.

Next week, we are excited to host our Open House for families interested in Kindergarten and Grade 1. We extend our sincere thanks to our leadership team for organizing this important event, as well as to our Kindergarten and Grade 1 teacher representatives for their support. We are also grateful to our School Council for helping promote the event through ECS social media.

In the coming days, teachers from Kindergarten to Grade 3 will begin administering the winter cycle of early years assessments, including literacy and numeracy screeners. For families seeking additional information, please visit the Alberta Education website.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our lunchroom supervisors, who have worked diligently to keep students safe during this week’s icy conditions. We also thank our students for remembering to “walk like a penguin,” move carefully, and stay mindful of safety throughout the school grounds.

We kindly ask for continued parent cooperation in ensuring that the staff parking lot is not used for parking, drop‑off, or pick‑up at any time. Protecting student safety remains our highest priority, and your support helps us maintain a secure environment for all.

Gently Used Clothing 

We are looking for donations of boys and girls pull on pants in the smaller sizes (4-8).  If you have some you would like to donate please drop off at the office.

Access Online Report Cards in February 2026

Families will be able to view, download, and print online report cards starting in February through MyCBE.

Kindergarten to Grade 9 Report Cards will be available starting February 24, 2026.

After May 29, 2026, all Semester 1 Reports Cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading and/or printing.

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE  to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.

Away for the Day

Parents/Guardians we appreciate your support with our Away for the Day policy which indicates that Students may not use Personal Mobile Devices (PMD) during instructional time, unless such use is approved by the classroom teacher to facilitate learning activities.  Students may not access social media on school networks or on school devices. Student PMDs are valuable electronic devices. The security and storage of these items is the sole responsibility of the owner or user. CBE assumes no responsibility for the safety, security, loss, repair or replacement of student PMDs.

 Personal Mobile Device (PMD): Any personal electronic device that can be used to communicate with or access the internet, such as a cellphone, tablet, laptop, gaming device or smartwatch. This also may include devices capable of communicating with a PMD (e.g. Bluetooth devices) such as headphones, earbuds, or smart speakers.

 Fun Lunches 

Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate.  We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.  

On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers.  If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.   

 We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
