Additional Funding Support for Eugene Coste School

Each spring and fall, all schools within the Calgary Board of Education go through budget processes that anticipate (spring) and finalize (fall) budgeting for the year. These budgets are based on confirmed dollars that are flowing from the Provincial government. From time to time, Alberta Education is able to provide additional funding to schools to provide support for specific focus areas such as learning intervention support.

This year we have received a small, yet impactful amount of funding that equates to approximately 20 days of substitute coverage. We are going to use this additional substitute coverage to enhance learning for students who through our range of data collection processes (provincial assessments, report cards, classroom-based formative assessment) will benefit from extra teacher support in the classroom. We are grateful to receive any additional financial support and to plan for it in the most meaningful and effective way possible.
