Estimadas familias,
We would like to begin by expressing our sincere appreciation to Ms. Sylvia, Sra. Wolf, Sr. Traxel, Sra. Gray, Srta. Rivas and our School Council for their efforts in organizing our Open House and warmly welcoming new families to Eugene Coste School. We also extend our thanks to the Grade 4/5 students for preparing the gym, creating welcome buttons, and designing event signage. Their contributions ensured that student voice was meaningfully represented throughout the evening and the event was well attended.
This week, our Division I teachers have been conducting the Alberta Education Early Learning Assessments. We are grateful for the support of Ms. Chrissel and Sr. Manuel in helping facilitate this important work. We anticipate completing all assessments by February 6, 2026.
Next Friday, January 30, there will be no school for students, as teachers will be participating in a series of professional learning sessions as part of our system-wide Professional Development Day at Crescent Heights.
As part of our annual cycle of continuous improvement, we gather feedback each year from students, staff, and parents through several surveys:
Alberta Education and Childcare 2025-2026 Satisfaction Survey
Alberta Education has begun its annual satisfaction survey to collect perceptions of Alberta’s education system. Advanis Inc. has been contracted to administer the telephone/online surveys beginning on January 2026 and ending in May 2026.
Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Survey (AEAS) Opens Online Jan. 26
Every school year, Alberta Education and Childcare surveys students, parents, and teachers to gather feedback on school experiences.
At our next School Council meeting, we will welcome the principal of Robert Warren School, who will provide a brief presentation on middle school programming. We will also share the results of the OurSchool Survey. We encourage you to join us—your engagement and feedback are always valued and appreciated.
Con aprecio,
Carmen Fandino

Fun Lunches
Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.
On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.
We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .
