Querida comunidad,

It was wonderful to see our school culture come alive during our Fiesta on Thursday evening. Thank you to all our families for attending, participating, volunteering, and helping create such a vibrant celebration. We are grateful for our community’s energy and commitment. We hope our new families had an opportunity to connect with current families and enjoy the wide range of activities thoughtfully organized by our School Council.

As we continue our journey toward meaningful reconciliAction, our teachers and students have been engaging in learning that deepens our understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and doing. In June, we make a point of reflecting and reviewing our school’s Truth and Reconciliation Commitment and look forward to sharing our updated TRC with the community in the fall.

Today, we celebrated our Grade 5 Farewell. We will miss our students dearly and know they will continue to make a positive impact as they begin their next chapter in the fall. A heartfelt thank‑you to our Grade 4/5 teachers and students for preparing an exceptional farewell, and to our parent farewell committee for organizing the celebration. We also extend our appreciation to our School Council and to Ivonne Otero for coordinating the Grade 5 Legacy project, as well as to the students and parents who helped install it near the exit doors.

Our teachers have now finalized report cards. Please note that printed copies are no longer provided; report cards will be available online beginning June 25.  Teachers will be available on June 26 (outside of their assigned student time)  and on June 29 until noon to address any report card questions. Families are reminded that July 31 is the final day for parents and legal guardians to access this year’s report card.

Next week will be a full and meaningful one, with Sports Day, transition activities, and farewells to staff members who are moving on. We extend our sincere thanks to Sr. Gossen, Srta. Sofia, Sr. Enrique, and Ms. Holly for their dedication and contributions to Eugene Coste School. They have made a lasting impact, and we wish them all the best in their new endeavors. We look forward to welcoming new staff in the Fall.

Warmly,

Carmen
