Estimadas familias,
This week brought several exciting learning experiences to our school. We were delighted to welcome Jeff Stockton for his first storytelling session at Eugene Coste School. His ability to draw students into his stories was remarkable, and classrooms were filled with quiet focus as students were truly mesmerized by his performance.
Next week, students in grade 4/5 will be completing the CBE Student Survey. You have already received communication from our Assistant Principal outlining the details. This survey provides valuable insight into student experiences, and we appreciate your support in encouraging your child to share their experience.
We are also Engaging Families at our next School Council meeting. Please mark your calendar to join us as we discuss budget and planning for next year on March 12, 2026. Our Grade 3 students are looking forward to taking part in Qué Pasa on May 12. This rich cultural and language opportunity is always a highlight for students. We extend our sincere thanks to Sr. Enrique and the Grade 3 team for the thoughtful planning and preparation that make this experience possible.
For our Grade 5 families, the first Camp Chief Hector meeting took place on Wednesday at 6 pm. We appreciate the time and collaboration of the Grade 5 team as they begin preparing for this memorable learning experience. Teachers will continue to share updates and important information directly with families as planning progresses.
A reminder that Student Led Conferences will take place on March 19. Please sign up through MyCBE for a 20-minute time slot. During these conferences, students will guide you through their learning and share evidence of their growth. This format is not intended as a one-on-one meeting with the teacher, but rather an opportunity for your child to guide you through their learning. As usual, please reach out by email to the teacher if you need to discuss your child’s progress.
This week, we had a special visit from CTV News to prepare a story for the 25th Spanish Bilingual Program, you can see the story.
Thank you for your continued partnership and engagement in your child’s learning. Our school community thrives because of the support and involvement of families like yours.
Warm regards,
Carmen

REPORT CARDS
After May 29, 2026, all Semester 1 reports cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading and/or printing.
Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child's teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For the best access to information, log in through the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.
Report cards summarize and communicate student achievement at a point in time. In addition to the report card, schools communicate with parents/guardians about student progress on an ongoing basis in a variety of ways.

Fun Lunches
Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.
On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.
We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .
