Estimadas familias,
This week, Eugene Coste School’s Kindergarten to Grade 5 students thrive in a joyful, inclusive, and engaging learning environment rooted in strong relationships and a culture of belonging. This was evident as we worked through our School Development Plan (SDP), noting our teachers’ commitment, focus, and knowledge helped us improve our literacy and numeracy results as well as our overall wellbeing. Our SDP is a 3-year plan, and we have renewed our goals for this year with some minor adjustments; our SDP will be posted to our website by November 30, 2025.
Our grade 4/5 teachers who were successful in obtaining the Campus Calgary Open Minds project have begun their work. We would like to thank Ms. Holly for sharing this at our School Council meeting and hope you will take a moment to look at it during our Parent-Teacher conferences next week; we can’t wait to see what the other 4/5 students will be doing with their Open Mind projects!
This week, we have also begun our Spanish Immersion week. Students are engaging in the many cultures of the Spanish-speaking world and teachers will be showcasing this work on the evening of the Dance Performance.
A special thank you to our School Enrichment Society for supporting our Dance Residency with Havana Social Dance that begins next week. Please mark your calendars for December 10 and/or 11 at 6 pm, when we will have an opportunity to share our learning.

Our teachers engage in important conversations around Bullying Awareness as part of our commitment to ensuring that every chid feels safe, valued, and supported. Through class discussions, read-alouds, and reflective activities, students learn how kindness strengthens our school community. At Eugene Coste School, we believe learning lives on a sea of wellness – when students feel seen and connected, they are able to grow and thrive.
We have had some inquiries about PowerSchool. Please note there is a video tutorial available under MyCBE, Attendance, Assessment, Reporting.

Fun Lunches
Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate. We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.
On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers. If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.
We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .
