Estimadas familias,

Dance Residency – Performance Nights!

Our performance afternoons and evenings are almost here! We are very impressed with the skills students are demonstrating this year, which shows progression and familiarity with what they were introduced to during our first residency in December 2023. We would like to once again thank our Eugene Coste Enrichment Society for generously providing the funds for this entire residency. This allows all students to engage in this authentic cultural experience without any additional fees! ¡Muchas gracias!

As we have done in previous years, we invite grandparents and any other extended family members to the dress rehearsals as seating capacity is very limited in the gym. For the evening performances, we welcome parents/guardians and siblings. Please ensure that all children are closely supervised and accompanied by an adult if they need to access the bathroom or take a movement break. Please also note performance dress requirements that have been added to the chart

Working towards ReconciliACTION- ¡Gracias a Anita Crowshoe!

On November 26, we enjoyed another very special day of learning with our friend and knowledge-keeper, Ms. Anita Crowshoe of the Piikani Nation. Students in several classes across grades 2 – 5 shared their questions and growing knowledge on important teachings that were focused on our anchor topics of belonging and community.

We learned about our responsibilities as Treaty People, lived experiences of residential school (stories that Anita shared on behalf of her family), documenting oral histories through winter count, the equality of all beings within creation, Blackfoot greetings in sign language, Blackfoot spoken words and so much more!

Our teachers and students are carrying within them the gift of this learning and it will continue to ripple outward. We look forward to continuing our professional learning with Anita during our January 31 Professional Learning Day.
