Estimadas familias,

Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestra comunidad!  Our students and many families took part in the Terry Fox run around our school field in support of the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.  Our grade one team prepared a thoughtful and motivational Terry Fox assembly reminding us why Terry is an important Canadian Trail Blazer. Our students had a chance to build stamina, set goals and, our younger students, pair up with grade 4/5 buddies. Our community ran, walked, strolled and contributed to this important cause helping us reach our $2700 goal. Felicitaciones Eugene Coste School!

Thanks to our students and teachers for understanding and following our fire drill protocols, part of our Emergency Response Plans; our first drill was a success!

Teachers are excited to meet you in person at our Open House Event. You would have received a sign-up invitation through Conference Manager to book either the 4:30, 5:15 or 6pm slots. At those times teachers will be presenting important class information. We encourage you to sign up and show up!

During the Open House, we will also have our School Book Fair in the Learning Commons; our sensory room will be open for a quick tour, and our School Council & Enrichment Society are bringing in some food trucks and would love to meet you!

We are grateful to our School Council and Enrichment Society for the first Teams Meeting for 2025-26. If you missed it, please note the next one is October 23. These dates our posted on our School Website.

On Wednesday September 24, we will reaffirm our Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation with our Orange Shirt Day Assembly at 10am in the Gym.

Que tengan un lindo fin de semana,

 Fun Lunches

Fun lunches are offered throughout the year to students who wish to participate.  We receive our lunches through Healthy Hunger, an online platform that delivers pre-ordered lunches to the school in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

On the day of the event, lunches are sorted and delivered to your child’s classroom by parent volunteers.  If you would like to participate, please register your child at www.healthyhunger.ca . Lunches must be ordered prior to midnight, 5 days before the fun lunch event.

We kindly ask that if your child is absent the day of the fun lunch, please contact the school prior to 10:30am, if you wish to pick it up the same day, after 1:30pm. If not specified, your food will be donated to someone in need of lunch. No refunds will be issued if your child is absent on the day of a Fun Lunch.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to parent support at www.healthyhunger.ca or email ecsfunlunch@gmail.com .

My Child Takes the Bus

As we have done in previous years, if your child normally takes the bus home but you will be picking them up, please meet us at the bus zone so that we can check in with you to confirm attendance. If you are picking up early or if there is a regular pick-up schedule at the bus, please call our office before 2:30pm so that we can add that information to our bus lists and avoid after school confusion.

Parking!Parking!Parking!

Our community is very busy as we share limited parking and roadways with neighbours and another school. Respectful driving and parking behaviour is appreciated by all. Please remember the following:

What if I still have questions?

The start-up of a school year is a very busy and dynamic time.  We will do our best to respond to your questions as quickly as possible and thank you for your patience and understanding as we focus on readying our classrooms for your children.
